Imagine a world without computers. The idea would be nearly impossible to imagine. Computers are the driver behind nearly every technological advancement of the last 50 years, from personal laptops to smartphones, solar panels, and electrical cars. Computers are everywhere, and we are ready to prepare our students for a future in this field. Get a headstart on your technology career through our Computer Science and Robotics Pathway. No matter your current experience, you will learn the skills to work with software, hardware, websites, networking, and security. You will also learn the skills to earn various respected industry credentials and college credits while in school.

Computer Science Classes:  Learn to design and program mobile apps, websites, and video games in the state of the art computer lab. Languages explored include HTML/CSS, Python, JAVA Script, and Blocky.  

Robotics Classes: Working in teams, students learn to build and program robots using LEGO Mindstorms and VEX robotics. Explore sensors, engineering, coding and design while working in a fun and exciting lab environment. The competitive robotics class competes in FIRST Tech Challenge using skills learned to solve game specific tasks with student built robots.

Learning Outcomes

  • Design, implement, test, and debug web-based computer programs using a variety of current tools and technologies.
  • Design and configure computer systems and networks with attention to current security needs.
  • Design, implement, test, debug and document at least one other type of computer program such as: game program, database program, object-oriented program.

Possibilities After Graduation

Classes in the pathway include: LEGO Robotics, VEX Robotics, Competitive Robotics, Web Basics, Digital Applications, Game Design, Intro to Computer Science, Intro to Python, Microcomputer Hardware, Computer Networks, Cyber Security, Leadership Projects: Program & Software, and Leadership Projects: Robotics. 

Career possibilities include: Operations Technicians, Electro-mechanical Technicians, Sales Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Computer Programmer, Project Engineer, Software Engineer, Game Designer, Cyber Security Analysis, Computer Network Architect, Hardware Designer, and Web Developer. 

Annual Salary Range: $30,000 - $120,000+
