Early Childhood Education
Early Childhood Education is a pathway that provides students with basic knowledge and understanding of child growth and development - from prenatal to 12+ years of age. Students will have the opportunity to work in our on-campus child development center acquiring valuable, necessary skills to work with children. By engaging in multiple hands-on activities related to careers that work with children and families.
Learning Outcomes
- Analyze the effects of family as a system on individuals and society.
- Identify career paths within early childhood, education & related fields.
- Understand principles of human growth and development across the lifespan.
- Identify conditions that influence human growth and development.
- Recognize strategies that promote growth and development across the lifespan.
Possibilities After Graduation
Classes in the pathway include: Infant & Toddlers, Preschool & Beyond, Family Relations, Preschool Intern, Teacher Cadet.
Career possibilities include: Preschool teacher, K-12 Teacher, Child Care Center Owner/Director.
Annual Salary Range: $30,000 - $75,000
