Athletics

The THS Athletic Department considers athletics an integral part of education. We believe that participation in sports develops and instills the qualities of pride, unity, and victory, while also preparing the student athlete to live their life with a strong social conscience. It is our goal to provide our student athletes with the tools and skills needed to achieve this mission. All students are welcome and encouraged to participate in athletics as a valuable experience during their career at Thurston High School.

It is our hope that all students will find a connection to athletics in which they can participate and find enjoyment during their high school careers. We encourage parents to actively support their children in both their academic and athletic pursuits; we promote education in both curricular and co-curricular activities. 

The THS Colts have a proud tradition of excellence with numerous league and sectional championships coupled with academic success in the classroom and service to the community. 

Any student who participates in school-sponsored athletics or activities must agree to abide by the School District Board Policies, Administrative Rules, Code of Conduct, building rules, and team training contracts. All students who participate in athletics and extracurricular activities are expected to be positive role models for other students and members of the community. Students should demonstrate good conduct at school and in the community at all times.
