On a night they won’t soon forget, Thurston’s oldest and youngest students came together to inspire and dream big. Thurston High School hosted a Dream Big event on February 7 at halftime of the girls' varsity basketball game.
The Springfield Board of Education is currently reviewing recommended Health and Science materials. As part of the District's commitment to transparency and community involvement, we invite the community to preview the instructional materials.
Now that winter is here, the potential for school delays or closures due to snow and ice becomes a reality. SPS announces delays and closures in several different ways. Our goal is to determine by 6:30 a.m. whether school will be delayed, closed or open as usual.
Springfield students continue to make graduation gains, according to a new report from the Oregon Department of Education. The data reveals that 74.2 percent of SPS students graduated on time for the Class of 2024.
Applications are open for 2025-26 kindergarten, first, sixth and ninth grade students.
Students at Hamlin Middle School now have a cozy place for reading, relaxing, and connecting with other avid literature lovers—the Carson Reading Room. Students got their first peek on November 6 of the new reading room, which was made possible thanks to a grant that was funded by the Gagon family.
